Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by Torie Bliss Edu! I am the creator behind Torie Bliss Edu , @torielynnbliss and @torieblissedu ! I have been a licensed hairstylist for 15 years! No joke it has been my dream job since I was a kid, it was always my answer when anyone asked “what do you want to be when you grow up?” I taught myself how to french braid and fishtail on my Barbie’s when I was little, not much has changed now that I style full size “Barbie’s” (mannequin heads) for a living. I was the kid that told my mom exactly where I wanted my ponytail before I could do it myself! I retired from behind the chair a couple of years ago which may sound silly in your 30s but my other dream job was to be a mom. I have 2 amazing daughters 9 & 3. When I decided to become a stay at home mom/homeschool mom my love for the hair industry didn’t go away it just shifted to a new endeavor and I feel more aligned than ever! While working behind the chair I didn’t think I would ever be an educator (those were the stylist I looked up to, how would I ever be good enough?) All that changed about 7 years ago when the opportunity fell onto my lap because of instagram. I am forever thankful because it quickly became my absolute favorite thing! The joy I feel giving other stylists confidence in themselves and “ah ha” moments is like nothing else I’ve felt in my career (that’s saying a lot because I’ve had some amazing moments in my career). Torie has changed my hair game as a stylist! Ugh I used to get so anxious during prom or wedding season hoping my clients would only want waves and maybe a simple pinned back half up situation and if they wanted something more intricate I’d switch clients with my coworkers because I wasn’t confident enough to try.
